The origins of Plantpol of Zaborze date back to the early fifties, where mainly field crops were cultivated in a gardening farm. The farm developed gradually: greenhouse facilities were built and flower production was introduced, mainly cut flowers with carnation and carnation seedlings as the key product. |
In the following years the company built its position in the domestic market of orchids, freesia, anthurium and many other flowers, as well as poinsettia, introduced by the company on the domestic market in the eighties.
| In the nineties, based on the property of the Garden Plant Breeding Centre, Plantpol Ltd. was established whose production shifted entirely from the cultivation of cut flowers to the cultivation of potted flowers and the production of source material (seedlings), balcony and flowerbed plants (mainly geranium and impatiens). |

The company developed quickly, upgraded and repaired its damaged greenhouses, improved the gardening production processes and searched for new developments in the flower industry.
The upshot of these changes was the introduction and successful marketing of Surfinia®, which came to be a hit among balcony plants, known as the “queen of balconies”.
The further development of the company involved not only investment but also a considerable increase of balcony and flowerbed plant source materials, produced internally from nurseries, free of viruses and bacteria, as well as the production of nursery plants, numerous species and varieties of perennials and launching new programs for container plant collections (“Fall Magic” and “Blooming Spring”).
Good co-operation and numerous contacts with breeders and gardeners world-wide as well as the membership in the European marketing alliance Proven Winners®, result in numerous attractions introduced to the company’s offer every year.
The recent years marked a fast development of the company (modern covered facilities), the winning of new markets (West and South Europe) and entering eastern markets (the Ukraine, Lithuania, Russia). The policy of expansion on eastern markets resulted in the setting up of Plantpol-Ukraina in Striy near Lviv. |
