These are low evergreen shrubs.
Planted in groups, they form colorful, compact carpets, decorating flowerbeds with their flowers and colorful leaves. Heathers bloom from
mid-July until October, whereas heaths from late February until April or May.

The varieties of heaths and heathers differ in flower colors and fullness and date of blooming, leaf color and plant habits and height.
They do well in sunny sites shielded from wind and light acid soil.
